I've been a member of deviantArt for a few years now, but I decided to create a new page to post some things that don't really fit with what I have going on over at my other page, starting with some older drawings. I also thought it would be a nice place to occassionally post some photography, some personal pics, or maybe even a few written pieces. Who knows what will happen? It might eventually become it's own theme, leaving me to start yet another page and try this experiment all over again, or it might end up being what I'm hoping it will be ... a hodge-podge of a bunch of random things with no underlying common thread whatsoever... because honestly, that's kind of what I love ... a wide variety of things that don't really seem connected in any way shape or form, but are all important to me. Those are the things that make life interesting.
So this is a place where all my leftover little insanities can gather together and just sort of hang out in the same big virtual bar....
Welcome to 'Club Madness'.

Wondercon '14
I went to Wondercon in Anaheim this weekend and I have to say it reminds me of what the San Diego Comic-con used to be. (They actually have comics there!) Don't get me wrong, I LOVE San Diego Comic-con and I go every year (I call it my Christmas) and it's been fun to see it grow from an actual comic book convention to a full blown media juggernaut over the last few years... but a part of me always misses those times when you could walk around without feeling like you're in a sardine can or actually get into a panel you wanted to see. Wondercon is like a flashback for me in that respect. It's been growing every year due to the overflow o
Why this need?
I often wonder if we create more for ourselves or for others. I understand the personal satisfaction from creating something, but how often is the drive to do so either for the pursuit of accolades or to connect with others who share in our experience, rather than simply the self-satisfaction of bringing the creation to life.
Why do we struggle for hours to create something that others will view for only seconds? To better ourselves? To display what we've worked so hard to achieve? Should it matter if something gets only 10 views or over 10,000? We obviously want to touch as many lives as we can... to possibly bring a little joy to each
